Civil Tax Practice
Our law office represents clients in any of the three areas of civil litigation related to tax transactions:

• Transaction planning to help make sure the buying and selling of property or businesses, setting up an estate, or planning related to income taxes, is accomplished in a manner that is advantageous to the taxpayer.
• Legal advice when transaction challenges occur in which a taxpayer must defend a transaction as proper according to all Federal and State Tax Codes.
• Legal representation during tax collections which occur when individuals or corporations owe taxes, penalties and / or fines, are unable to pay them and must have offers and compromises negotiated by an attorney.

Estate Administration  & Probate
Our Monterey CA law firm represents client facing will disputes, inheritance disputes and estate tax disputes. We also represent individuals and families who have legal needs related to trusts or living will administration. Our goal is to effectively distribute the estate in accordance with the clients' wishes, and, at the same time minimize potential estate taxes and estate settlement costs. We also represent individuals and their families in the difficult period following a death.

Estate Planning
We assist clients in the preparation of wills and trusts. Because of our tax law specialization, our estate planning is accomplished with an emphasis on the tax consequences of estate planning decisions.

Criminal Taxation Litigation
We represent individuals and companies that have been charged with tax evasion, tax fraud or other tax issues that have risen beyond the level of Tax Court and must be litigated in state or federal criminal court. Tax fraud is the federal offense of willfully attempting to evade or defeat the payment of taxes due and owing. Tax evasion is illegally paying less in taxes than the law permits or committing fraud in filing taxes.

Trusts
On occasion there are family disputes related to the administration of a trust. Our law firm would represent an individual in a trust dispute. We also draft living trusts and administer trusts and living trusts.

Wills
Our law office will draft wills and living wills and administer those wills when the occasion arises. We also act with Powers of Attorney when required.
